These terms are the agreement between you and BooklyBot when you use our website and order books. We’ve kept them readable and added plain-English summaries where it helps.
By creating an account, making a book, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy from us.
BooklyBot (“we”, “us”) operates the service from the United Kingdom. Our contact details are at the end of these terms.
2Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Please give accurate information, and keep your delivery details up to date so orders reach you.
3Making a book
Our books are generated with the help of AI from the details and choices you provide. Each book is unique, and results will vary with your input.
You review and approve your book before it is printed. Once you’ve approved a book for print, it enters production and generally can’t be changed.
To protect the children our books feature, every character is deliberately constrained: first names only, no photo-realistic depictions, and mandatory stylisation. These safeguards apply to every book and cannot be removed.
4The content you provide
You keep ownership of the details, names and any photo you provide. You grant us the licence needed to generate, print and deliver your book, and to store it in your library.
You confirm you have the right to use what you upload — including the right to feature the child in the book — and that it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, hateful, or that sexualises or endangers a child. We may refuse or remove content that breaks these rules.
5Who owns what
You own the personal book you create and may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes — reading it, gifting it, reprinting it for your family.
BooklyBot, including the website, software, templates and brand, remains our property. These terms don’t transfer any of our intellectual property to you.
6Delivery
We offer worldwide delivery. Estimated production and delivery times are shown at checkout; they’re estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by the carrier.
Please check your delivery address carefully. If a parcel is returned because of an incorrect address, we may ask you to cover reshipping.
7Prices and payment
Prices are shown at checkout in your selected currency and include applicable taxes where required. Payment is taken securely at the time of order.
Because each book is personalised and made to order, it’s exempt from standard change-of-mind cancellation rights once production has begun.
8Cancellations, refunds and reprints
Every BooklyBot book is personalised and made to your specification. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and equivalent laws elsewhere, personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right, so a printed order cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
For digital editions, by completing your purchase you expressly request immediate supply of the digital content and acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel ends once it is made available to you.
If your printed book arrives damaged or defective, differs materially from the version you approved, or does not arrive at all, contact us within 30 days of delivery (or expected delivery) with your order number and, where relevant, photos of the problem. We will reprint the book or refund you — your choice. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9Acceptable use
When using BooklyBot, you agree not to:
Use the service for anything unlawful or fraudulent.
Submit content that is hateful, or that sexualises or harms a child.
Disrupt, overload, or attempt to break the security of the service.
Copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform.
Circumvent usage limits, pricing, or the content-safety controls built into the service.
Resell or commercially exploit the service or its books without our permission.
10Service availability
We work to keep BooklyBot available, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, pause or withdraw features from time to time.
11Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law — and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12Ending your account
You can close your account at any time. Some records, such as completed orders, may be retained where the law requires.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date, and significant changes won’t apply retroactively to orders already placed.
14Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in and the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. If we do not enforce a right under these terms straight away, we are not waiving it.
